Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg, especially on one side body means risk of stroke? |
but if it is only numbness in hand area means stroke too Thank you Tyler, Felicity. I read the same you wrote Felicity, that's why I got worried but I am not really accustomed to be sick and visiting doctor or hospital. well thank you by your time, now will be hard to choose the best answer, to me both are good, both adviced me to go the doctor first of all you should know that there are specific areas of your brain that serves specific parts and functions of your body. when you feel sudden numbness on a specific part, it may indicate a disruption in a part of the brain. if this condition persists for more than 24hrs, it may well be a stroke. however if it resolves within 24hrs, it may be a transient ischemic attack(TIA). frequent occurence of TIAs are warning signals of an impending stroke. there are stroke mimickers to be considered too, so better seek consult. I believe that means you are actually having a stroke, not so much that you are at risk of having a stroke. |
