What is the differance between a heart attack and a stroke?

A stroke is a serious medical condition that occurs when the blood supply to the brain is disturbed.

A heart attack, is when part of the heart muscle dies because it has been starved of oxygen. A heart attack usually occurs when a blood clot forms in one of the coronary arteries (the blood vessels that lead to the heart muscle), blocking the blood supply to the heart. A blockage can also sometimes be caused by a spasm (sudden narrowing) of a coronary artery.

A stroke halts oxygen reaching the brain causing brain damage a heart attack does not

stroke is for brain.

A heart attack is when blood stops flowing through your heart. A stroke is caused by clotting in the brain.

Lots, there is nothing similar between them whatsoever.

A stroke has to do with a blod clot in the brain. A heart attack is a failure of the heart.

A heart attack is self explanatory and a stroke is a blockage or disturbance of the blood vessels in the brain.

A stroke occurs in the brain: stoppage of blood flow to brain: a sudden blockage or rupture of a blood vessel in the brain resulting in, e.g. loss of consciousness, partial loss of movement, or loss of speech

A heart attacks occurs in the heart: damage to heart: a sudden, serious, painful, and sometimes fatal interruption of the heart's normal functioning, especially due to a blockage in the coronary artery

A heart attack affects the heart, a stroke affects the brain. Strokes could be considered a 'brain attack'.

In simple terms, a stroke is in the brain and a heart attack is in the heart. Both can be deadly.

Sroke: a sudden loss of consciousness resulting when the rupture or occlusion of a blood vessel leads to oxygen lack in the brain

Heart Attack: Death of, or damage to, a region of heart muscle due to an insufficient blood supply.

The stroke is to the brain the heart attack is to the heart. Either of these die your toast.

A heart attack is where the muscles in your heart start to beat irregularly, meaning that no blood is sent spurting out. After a while, this means that parts of your body go numb where no blood has passed through. They will eventually die. The brain is the first to be affected, as this will begin to die after only 15 seconds of no blood.
A stroke is where blood clots in your brain, causing a lack of blood to a certain part. This part then dies. The body is an amazing thing, and blood will try to find a new route through the brain (we only use a third of it at any one time). A while after the stroke (several months) people may be better than before as the blood is now moving easily through the brain.
When you get a stroke, it is a sudden extremely painful headache sensation that more often than not will leave you unconscious.

Hope that was helpful

Tom

the stroke is brain attack and the heat attak is heart affect

Both are usually caused by blood clots, where it affects the heart valves it causes a heart attack, where it disrupts blood supply to the brain it is a stroke and depending on the severity will result in paralysis of limbs to one side of the body or the other. Sometimes the two things are interlinked - a clot passing through the heart can end up in the right hand side of the brain - this accounts for why the majority of stroke sufferers will experience paralysis on their left hand side as a consequence.

Another important distinction is that the heart attack leaves the victim in a weakened physical state, whereas a stroke victim has lost control of motor and other functions but is (normally) otherwise in good health.

This Patient Guide is written for the loved ones of heart patients who are dealing with the short-term stress that comes with a test, procedure or recent diagnosis of heart disease. It explains why support is so important to a loved one with heart disease. It also offers practical strategies on how to support a loved one while also taking care of yourself.
