Can chinese acupunture cure really stroke patient? |
My grandma recently had a bleeding in her right brain. Now on medical side, she is doing quite well but the whole left side of her body is severely weak. She had been doing physiotherapy for the past 3 weeks but showing slow recover rate. My family planning to send my grandma for chinese acupunture treatment. I have consulted a few neurologist regarding my grandma case but I have been told that chinese acupunture CANNOT cure stroke patient (according to her that some major studies carried out in China about this acupunture and stroke and proven that acupunture does not cure stroke). I just want to find out more about acupunture in curing stroke patient. I need some advise from neurologist experts or acupunture professionals. Please help. Your advices are very much appreciated. Thank you 1) Any neurologist you consult will tell you it's impossible. Once the brain cells die off there is no going back. Sometimes the remaining healthy parts of the brain can take over for the dead brain tissue and some function may return. Unfortunately acupuncture will do nothing to alter this. Please look into the Bradley Method. I am a certified massage therapist, highly educated, and highly skeptical (but open) by nature. I worked at a spa in Auburn, California. We had a woman who had 90% loss of ROM (Range of Movement) come into the spa and receive Bradley Method treatments from the owner of the spa. I witnessed, with my own eyes, a woman who could not dress herself, could no longer drive herself, had great difficulty walking and talking, and had great difficulty keeping her lips closed adequately enough to not drool on herself (So you can imagine how painful an existence this poor woman was leading as the result of her stroke...), regain almost complete range of movement with her stroke-affected arm over about a 2-3 month period of treatments several times per week. I will NEVER forget her, and the healing I saw her go through. She had been told to forget getting any better by her doctors. They told her she would never get any better, ever. They were WRONG! And still are. I have not seen her for about 8 years, because I moved to the East Coast, but last I heard she was driving again, and one had to look very closely, and with a trained eye, to see any results from the stroke in her walking. Never listen to ANYONE who tells you never, especially an American allopathic doctor. I would have a LOT more respect for them if they would simply say, "Try! It can't hurt you to try alternatives, and something you try may actually be able to help you immeasurably!" Those who try to act like gods are in for an immense downfall, and an immense awakening. I have actually had amazing good luck with TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). Try it and see how your grandma does. It can't hurt her from my perspective, with anything worse than a slight pinch from an acupuncture needle. Do not give up hope. A book called ask the acupuncturist. they will give an honest answer. doctors will generally not give an honest answer as they are trained to believe in medical science only -though there a few who are more open minded. so they will not be reliable to ask if its ok. acupuncturists will be able to help certainly but just ask and im sure they will give you an honest answer about to what extent this is possible in your grandmothers case. It can only be a good thing, dont let the doctor put you off! Whetever happens, her quality of life will be greatly improved! First learn what acupuncture is and how it is supposed to work. Then you can make your own educated decision. Do you believe in Chi? (science says Chi doesn't exist) If not then there's no point in trying acupuncture. Assuming your inquiring about TCM type acupuncture. |
