Is it possible for someone to have a heart attack and a stroke at the same time? |
Is it possible for someone to have a heart attack and a stroke at the same time? Yep. Especially if the stroke and heart attack were due to blood clots (thrombus) formation in the leg migrating through the circulatory system to the coronary arterys and thence to the cerebral vessels. Or someone with chronic atrial fibrillation would develop clots which could then migrate. Not usual to see both together, but I'm sure there are cases in the literature. Severe dehydration and heat stroke could also cause the scenario you've described. So could DIC or certain heparin-induced immune responses (HITT) yes. |
