Can a person suffer from a heart attack and stroke at the same time? |
it is for my CSI project....just wondering..... Most people don't realize it, but when your heart stops pumping, your brain will begin to die in about 4 to 6 minutes. Hence, myocardial infarction (or heart muscle cell death) is generally followed closely behind by cerebral infarction (or brain cell death). Just before the finish line he fell over dead. The autopsy showed that he had both a heart attack and stroke simultaneously. Yes, unfortunately it is possible. Yes. Heart attacks and strokes are related. You can have a heart attack caused by a number of factors, including clogged arteries. While you are having that attack, the heart fails, it cannot pump oxygen-rich blood to your brain, causing a stroke. A stroke happens when the brain is deprived of oxygen for any reason. |
