If you had a severe stroke & was put in a gov't nursing home what would you desire?

If you had no one to care for you or visit you or look at for your best interest and you were unable to intelligently communicate would you prefer to live like that or prefer assisted suicide?

Just curious.

While not pro euthanasia.. I would hope tha someone would have my interest at heart and do the right thing. Some Dr's will keep patients alive till their medical benefits run out then change medications to allow the patient to die. I would hope my money ran out really quick so that I could just die with dignity..

I would hope to be euthanized.

If I had no one to care for me, or visit me, or look at for my best interest, and I was unable to intelligently communicate I might consider it even without the stroke.

However, a stroke isn't necessarily "the end".

My grandfather had a bad stroke, but he made a 80% recovery. It took a while, and was hard to do all that PT, but he did it. Of course he had a lot of support from family & friends.
