If some1 were to have a stroke on avrage how long would they need to be hospitalized? |
If some1 were to have a stroke on avrage how long would they need to be hospitalized? my mom is in a long term care facility for the rest of her life! has been there 3 yrs! the big eye opener is those places cost $6000.00 a month! it depends on what part of the brain is affected,how badly its affected,and how soon its treated? It depends on how bad the stroke was. Some times people are only hospitalized for a few days, some are there for weeks. Every stroke is different. The range of hospitalization is different as well. It depends n how much damage was done to the brain, the type of stroke it was (thrombotic or hemorrhagic), the severity of the stroke (some sufferers must be on life support for up to a month) So, generally, it can range from a few hours if the stroke is thrombotic and clot-busters work, to many months if much damage is done and the patient is not well enough to go into rehabilitation. |
