Vertigo or mini stroke? How can you tell the difference? |
Vertigo or mini stroke? How can you tell the difference? in vertigo the affected individual feels tat he himself or his surrounding r in constant movement,,its often a spining sensation, its symptom of disease in the inner ear or in vestibuler nerve...................while stoke is a sudden attack of weakness affceted one side of body..its due to intruption of blood flow to brain. mini stroke will probably cause numbness and tingling into the arms, facial droop will possibly be seen . vertigo is a sense of dizziness or "swirlling" that can affect balance; tia can be a sense of numbness, tingling, pins and needles, muscle weakness on one side or difficulty speaking, or even a vague reduction of mental capacity. I know of one person who had a tia who simply lost the ability to understand processes for about 24 hours--became childlike in understanding of how things get done, and then that sensation passed. Vertigo does not produce numbness, tingling, changed cognition, changed ability to speak or understand. Vertigo is limited to dizziness and lack of balance. well i guess with some people it would be hard to tell. A while back , the hospital said I had vertigo, the condition not improve with medication. I went back the next day feeling even worse. Well after many tests and a week in the hospital, and even to this day, all they can come up with is that I either had a mini stroke or I am in the early stages of MS. They had found that I had a few lesions on my brain stem. Who knows!! I feel fine now and they want me to keep going back every year. I say if it aint broke, don't fix it. |
