It can. A stroke can affect any portion of the brain causing damage. It can effect speaking, mobility, and cognitive impairment.

Some of the most common complications can be paralysis of one side of the body, Dysarthia (difficulty in speaking) Aphasia (inability to speak), Apraxia ( inability to do things previously learned like using a fork to comb hair)

They can feel frustrated at the lost of independence, inability to express their wants and needs, or that nobody can understand what they say. The frustration can get so bad that they lash out at whatever is their.
