Stroke and Heart Attack?

So, my uncle went to the hospital 2 days ago because he was having chest pains. They decided it was a heart attack and gave him medication for that. However, while still in the hospital, he had a hemorrhagic stroke. As of 2 days ago, they are still draining the blood.

So, I feell like the hospital had something to do with having the stroke. Is it possible for one to happen right after the other?

The heart attack medication thinned out his blood which would lead to more blood in the brain. =more damage? right.

I'm very sorry to hear about your uncle.

While I cannot say definitively without knowing your uncle's case/medical history, the hospital did the best they could. The first-line treatment for minor heart attacks is often to give a blood thinner. There is no way of knowing ahead of time that he was at risk for a hemorrhagic stroke. Yes, the blood thinners may have exacerbated the damage due to the stroke, but they would likely have prevented many problems related to the heart attack. And no, the blood thinners would not have caused the stroke, as this kind of stroke results from a burst blood vessel.

Most often, hemorrhagic stroke is associated with high blood pressure, which stresses the artery walls until they break. Another cause of hemorrhagic stroke is an aneurysm. This is a weak spot in an artery wall, which balloons out because of the pressure of the blood circulating inside the affected artery. Eventually, it can burst and cause serious harm. The larger the aneurysm is, the more likely it is to burst. It is unclear why people develop aneurysms, but genes may play a role, since aneurysms run in families. Some people with brain hemorrhage have abnormal connections between arteries and veins. Under normal circumstances, circulating blood travels through the arteries into the capillaries, where it provides nutrients and oxygen to the tissues. Once the blood has deposited the nutrients and oxygen, it is carried back to the heart from the capillaries via the veins. In some people, however, a brain artery may connect directly to a vein, instead of going through the capillaries first. This is called an arterial-venous malformation (AVM). Since blood pressure in the arteries is much greater than in the veins, the veins may rupture, causing bleeding into the brain.
