What should be done if you suspect you or someone else is having a stroke? 禄? |
First of all I know a stroke is the sudden death of brain cells due to a problem with the blood supply. When blood flow to the brain is impaired, oxygen and important nutrients cannot be delivered. If you suspect someone is having a stroke, the most important thing is to get them to the hospital. Thrombolytics, which are clot busters, can only be given within three hours of the stroke happening, and that is such a small amount of time, that the sooner you get them there, the better chance of a recovery. There are two kinds of strokes. The one that you are describing is due to a blood clot. The one that happened to the girl you saw was a hemmhoragic stroke. This is due to an aneurysm (an artery in the brain bursting). In either case there is nothing you can do short of calling 911 and getting help immediately. There is a much better chance of recovery from a stroke due to a blockage. The number one thing you should do if you suspect a stroke is to call 911! If you experience slurred speach, numbness and tingling in extremities and facial drooping, you possibly are having a stroke. Age is also a factor and so is medical history. Be prompt...there is a 3 hour window for stroke. If you make it to the approiate hospital in time they may be able to get you a thrombolytic or a clot buster to deter any damage. Check out online what a stroke actually is and symptoms! First: Make the call to 911 as quickly as possible. You need to call 911 and get them to a hospital right away. The faster you get them there the faster they can get help. call 911 its simple |
