How can you tell when someone is gonna have a stroke?

How can you tell when someone is gonna have a stroke?

Anyone can have a stroke. But your more likely to have one being over age 55, being male, being African American, Hispanic or Asian/Pacific Islander, or having a family history of stroke. Other stroke risk factors are controllable. Some of these can lead to a stroke if you have high blood pressure, smoking, drinking a lot, and high cholestoral. Plus you have more of a chance of having one after you have already had one. So if these are things that a person has or does it is possible that they might have a stroke in the future, but other than that you can't really tell when someone is gonna hava a stroke.

To see if someone is having one ask the person to smile to see if their face droops, have the person raise both arms to see if one drifts downward, ask them to repeat a simple sentence to see if it is slurred, and ask them if they have blurred vision.

Symptoms include sudden numbness or weakness (of face, arm or leg - especially on one side of the body), confusion, trouble speaking or understanding, trouble seeing in one or both eyes, trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination, or severe headache with no known cause. A person can have one, more than one, or all of these symptoms. If you think you or anyone is having a stroke call 911 immediately. Time is important for treatment.

I had a stroke and didn't have any of these causation factors. I had seizures because of the stroke, but only a couple right after having the stroke. I couldn't move my right arm or leg. I went through physical, occupational, and speech therapy. My face went in and out of numbness for a couple of seconds and then went away. I am back to normal, but I have a little loss of feeling in my pinky and the side of my ring finger in my right hand and my finger coordination is still a little off as well as my wrist coordination. The doctors don't know what caused my stroke. I did have headaches that felt like pressure was building up in certain spots before I had a stroke, but I didn't think anything of them.

I have heard one story in my life where there were warning signs... he had a headache all day and his face kept drawing up on him on one side. Otherwise when they hit they usually hit without warning.
