Is this what happens in a heat stroke? |
Yesterday, I took the bus on the way to the library. This elderly man tried to get on the bus, but he was saying he couldn't move, & he asked the bus driver to pull closer to the bus. He was holding tightly onto the bus stop sign pole & LITERALLY crying & screaming for help. He panicked. He was weak & shaking uncontrollably. He almost fell. The ambulance came to get him. I felt bad for him & he was on my mind ALL day. Actually, with heat stroke, usually you'd feel nausea and really weak. Did he look like he was dizzy? The shaking does sometimes happen. My friend actually passed out and had a seizure with heat stroke. Other simptoms are pale, clammy skin and sweating. It's possible that he did have heat stroke. Heat stroke has almost nothing to do with weight. Keeping yourself properly hydrated is a very good idea in any weather over 85 degrees farenheight, despite whether or not stroke was the man's problem. No. Symptoms are usually a headache followed by dizziness & vomiting. This man probably had some other illness If he was old, who knows what happened to him. It could have been heat stroke, however, everyone thinks it's heat stroke when something happens to someone when it's hot outside. It's not like you caused it so don't worry about it. Heat stroke isn't something you really have to be too concerned about unless you are doing strenuous activity in a ridiculously hot area. Just keep hydrated and you should be fine. There is a big difference between technical heat stroke and feeling bad from being too hot. Heat stroke is a serious medical condition and people easily confuse it with just being tired of the heat. |
