Is there any medical test that can prove my mother did not have a stroke?

I saw the original record. She did not have a stroke. It was a drug overdose. The hospital has now altered the record.
Is there any test, such as a CAT scan or brain scan, that can prove that my mother did not suffer a stroke on May 18, 2008?

Of course, a CAT scan or MRI can show damaged brain tissue.

A brain scan - either at CAT scan or MRI will usually show up a stroke.

However, it's not as simple as that. Many people will have an abnormal brain scan that shows evidence of a previous stroke, but they have never had any symptoms of having one. The reverse is also true - a few presumed strokes never really show up on scan.

Therefore, signs of a stroke on a brain scan would not necessarily mean you mum had a stroke on May 18, 2008. However, if she has had a scan previously then it could be compared with one after May 18, and that may give more information.

Yes, a brain scan will work. Since a stroke involves rapture of a blood vessel in the brain and subsequent damage to surrounding structures due to build-up of blood, this should show up in an MRI or CT scan.
