Mini Strokes / TIAs, can a person have a mini stroke and not even know they had one (like during sleep)?

I know mini strokes don' t have long lasting symptoms after they happen, but is it possible for people to have a tia/mini stroke and not even notice them and not even know they had one? if so, how common is this?

Yes. A friend of mine had a series of mini-strokes and didn't even know it until the cops pulled him over one night for driving erratically. They thought he was drunk; he didn't even realize he was weaving.

This is a common occurence. People have ministrokes in their sleep. Snoring in fact has been strongly linked to stroke. Snorers suffer a 67% higher risk for strokes.

It is possible to have a TIA and not know it.
