Depending on what area of the brain was effected, it can be very likely that he will never speak again. Ischemic stroke ("brain attack" or a clot in the brain) can be just as devastating, but by and large are not. It's more likely that he had a brain bleed if he was on blood thinners, namely warfarin, but may have had the latter if he had for some reason stopped taking the medication, especially if it was for a condition like atrial fibrillation. |
