Can an ischemic stroke be fatal? |
also what age groups are mostly affected by strokes? It would be very unlikely as far as it being fatal. If someone loses consciousness (which is rare in and of itself) then they may fall down and manage to hurt themselves fatally, but the TIA (transient ischemic attack) is generally not fatal. The big worry though is that TIAs generally point to strokes later in life. As it is with strokes, risk for TIAs increase with age and are made more possible by being overweight or consuming high-calorie foods and fats. I don't believe there is a set age group that suffers more, but it is more common in older people. Pengalor is is not talking about the same thing as you. He is talking about a TIA, which is NOT a stroke. |
