Is it Possible to walk after a stroke.?

My grandma is complainig of dizziness and I am afraid that she has had a stroke, but she got up and walked to the bathroom. Is it still possible that she had a stroke? Can you walk right after having a stroke?

for some people, yes. for other people, no. it would completely depend on the severity of the the stroke and the areas of the brain affected.

i know a guy who had a stroke and walks with a limp. i know a mother who had a stroke after childbirth and has no lasting effects. and yet my grandpa had a stroke and was completely paralyzed on his left side and never walked again.

it all depends. best wishes!

thank you for the 'best answer'! glad your grandma is okay. take care =) Report Abuse

There are different kinds of strokes, some very severe, some not so severe. A person's ability to walk after one depends on the severity of the stroke.

Take her to the hospital. Do not wait. if it was a stroke the sooner whe gets treatment the better her chances for recovery.

thats absolutely possible.
there are differnt kinds of strokes.

i would consult a medical person. or learn about strokes online.

best of wishes you and your grandmother.
