When is a stroke a stroke to a doctor? i was having bad headaches and achy numby feeling around my mouth& jaw. |
its not the first time its happened twice before but my doctor has ruled out a stroke cos of my age im 33yr old woman.doctor says i have to relax more.what do you think? Hi, If you go to this link it may answer your concerns - I think you should trust your doctor. You probably have stress headaches and the ache/numb feeling is due to clenching the jaw or grinding your teeth. That's a much more likely scenario than a stroke would be. Strokes- even of the transient ischemia would have other symptoms besides those you describe. You might have better relief if you eliminated whatever it is stressing you and causing you to clench the jaw. If all else fails, get a bite block. They sell them at sports shops, but the best are made by the dentist. Pad the teeth, and the ache in the jaw may go, as well as the headache. You might also call in to see the dentist, as there are some problems with the jaw joint that will do this. I don't think the doctor can solve your problem, but the dentist just might. Those are more like symptoms, my gran has had a stroke and it got to a point were she could not move and she was in a coma like sleep for 3 days and its been 4 years and she can barely move and can still not move her left hand. I would get checked up as they are not normal everyday things that happen Have an ECG or get a specialist. You are still very young. Try to change y0ur eating habits. Avoid fats and salts. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Get a new dr if he ruled out stroke just because of your age. I had multiple strokes at 24 years old and was otherwise very healthy. could be migraine - I suffer with terrible migraines which cause the left side of my face to go numb and causes tunnel vision. |
