How soon after a mild stroke can a person begin regular and then vigorous physical activity?

I haven't been diagnosed with a mild stroke but I had my left arm go numb followed by a very strong headache, nausea and vomiting. I had a cat scan which showed no evidence of a stroke but I figure the writing was on the wall. Before this, I was very physically active and I'm worried about possibly stressing my body too much and causing another if I work out too hard too soon. Any advice?

Go for it, but maybe not as hard for a while. Generally a mild stroke or the proper word being Transient Ischaeic Attack normal heal themselves with nil side effects. If it was this keeping fit and healthy would do you no harm. If it happens again seek though seek medical attention.

work with physical therapy to get your strength back and talk to your doctor about exercising. Don't overdo it and listen to your body. If you feel tired, then rest.

I had a stroke at the age of 37 yrs. ago. It took me a good yr. to regain my entire right side seeing as I was partially paralyzed for a short time and very weak. I worked w/ an awesome PT and OT therapist to get my strength back.

Yes, I was impatient at times, I won't lie, because I wanted to get my life back including driving seeing as I wanted to do things for myself again and not have to rely on my family or husband. All of my hard work finally paid off and I am able to get back into my daily routine.

Take care and good luck to you.
