Could I have had a stroke this morning?

Recently, for about the past week or so, I've been waking up with a numb left arm. I just shook it off as I was just sleeping on it. The only thing that didn't add up was that I sleep either on my back or my right side, and normally if anything goes numb when I wake up it's my right arm because I'm laying on it.

Well, this morning my dog had woken me up to go outside. This was at around 9am. I let her outside, waited a few minutes, let her back in and went back to sleep. At 10:30am, the phone rang in my house, so I had slept for about another hour or so. I was the only one home so I had to get the phone. I woke up, got out of bed and when I stood up, I had realized I couldn't feel anything on the left side of my face. My left arm and leg were completely numb. When I stood up I couldn't feel my left foot on the ground so I fell flat on my face knocking over stuff on a table.

When I was on the ground I was dazed, not sure if it was from the numbing or because I had just woken up. It took me about half a minute for me to realize what had happened, and then took another half a minute to get up because my left side was too weak to support myself. When I had managed to get up I had forgotten all about the phone and gotten back in bed and fell asleep while trying to figure out what had just happened.

I woke up an hour later with my left side feeling awkward, much like what it would feel like after your foot falls asleep and wakes up. It stayed like that all day, it still feels a little awkward and it's been a good 12 hours since I woke up. Could I have had a stroke this morning?

When it happened I could move my left arm and left leg, but it felt extremely awkward trying to move my arm, almost as if I was too weak to lift it. I'm pretty sure I could move it after I had gotten up, but it was extremely hard to move and felt very, very awkward.

Also, I thought it would be extremely uncommon for someone of my age to have a stroke, since I'm not even 20 yet.

Numbness like what you're describing is very bad. And if you -did- have a stroke, it's likely to happen again without medical attention. Get to a doctor or a hospital to get checked out as soon as possible.

It is imperative to get to a doc tonight. An unattended stroke can lead to permanent brain damage/ loss of mobility. Please go ahead and get examined tonight. Even a few hours can make a difference to your health. It may be nothing, but it may be more serious.

A couple things you can do to see if you have had a stoke: Smile. Usually you won't be able to because one half of your face will be paralyzed. Second: Talk. A lot of times stroke victims will have a difficult time. Raise your arms. If you can't raise both then call 911.
You could have a number of things that aren't as serious, in any event you should see your (or a) Doctor.
I wish you all the best.
