i had a stroke last year. my face muscles do not work on the right side. when i was having the stroke i remember tremendous pressure in my head, my lips and cheeks were going numb and i started to repeat my self when i was talking,(my mom was there) she told me that i started to kinda babbel and she couldnt understand what i was saying. this happened after i was hit by a drunk driver last year. my doctor said that a stroke happens to most people when they are wheelchair bound. i hope i helped you. take care, amber, from green bay, wisconsin 25 years old

People who have suffered a stroke have felt a side of their body go numb. it could be ur right or left arm or a side of ur face or even a whole side of your body. Someone could be having spasms as well.
One way of knowing for sure if looking at a persons pupil. one is dilated and the other is constricted (one is smaller rhen the other)

*Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg, especially on one side of the body

*Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding

*Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes

*Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination

*Sudden, severe headache with no known cause

depends on the severity of the clot.
basically a stroke occurs when a blood clot (thrombus) breaks loose and travels up to the vessels of ur brain and lodges there (embolus) thus decreasing or blocking all blood flow to an area of ur brain.
anywhere from hemiparesis (one-sided weakness of ur body) to something so subtle such as aphasia or difficulty finding the right words to express urself.
i once had a patient like that (aphasia).
upon further examination, he had a cardiac murmur.
echocardiogram shows vegetation that probably embolized to his brain (frontal cortex).

You wouldn't be writing this.
