Has any one any experience with a haemorrhagic stroke? |
My mother, eighty three years of age, experienced a haemorrhagic stroke, right brain, last Maundy Thursday (day before Good Friday). She is now in nursing home. She's learned how to swallow some, but still has a feeding tube. She cannot move her left leg or arm. Does anyone have any experience of someone recovering at that age to the point he or she can move in a wheel chair or even walk? you know it could go either way.............. ( good or bad) I know from working in nursing homes and hospitals and even in private duty cases............................ that the most important thing is #1 pray ................................. #2 physical therapy ............OFTEN ............. maybe 2 or 3 times a day ......depending on her health now and before the stroke.....How was her health before this? Was she at home able to take care of herself? ????????????? my mom is 88 and has had several small strokes and has come back from them ........she is still in her own house ......with some help................I'll pray for you and your mom .....try to keep her spirits up ................encourage her all you can.....( and remember to take care of yourself) I care and will be praying for you and your mom....I do care. write to me if you'd like ....I'll help you if I can. please....give me an up date on you and your mom I really do care.........Marie.....still praying for you both My dad had a stroke awhile back. And the doctors said that he had bleeding in his brain, and we were really worried about him, so we went to church and told our Pastor, and he stopped the service and had everybody pray for him, and God just touched him right then, cause then the doctors came in and told him that they didn't understand it, but it was gone, so I suggest praying. Other than that yes, she probably will be ok, there taking care of her, it's different for different people, how fast or well they recover, prayer is the best remedy though! Personal Experience No,but I've seen people make miraculous recoveries,so I'll pray for you're mom. But brace yourself for the fact that she may never recover and the next few years could be a slow slide down. And you know, that is the norm - most of my elderly relatives passed away in rest homes after lingering problems, but I'm only 20 so i don't know what it feels like to see this happen to your mom i really feel for you and like i say I will remember her in my nightly prayers which i really do by the way. |
