Should I tell my doctor if I had stroke like symptoms even if it was like 5 years ago? |
About 5 years ago I took a pill of Exstacy. While on the pill I got a severe headache. The headache lasted about 3 hours and it felt like someone was grabbing the tendons on the back of my neck and squeezing them with all their might as well as a knife like pain through the front right half of my brain. I became disorientated and had trouble making coherent sentences. I had to lay down for about an hour and I kept hearing a gun-shot like sound, similar to a loud crack, that I know was only in my head. These symptoms cleared up after about 4 hours and I felt back to normal after about 3 days. Please don't respond if you're going to critique me about the Exstacy. I know it was the contributing factor, but NO it was not all the drug. I was an experienced Exstacy user at the time and was extremely careful in my use. To this day I still have a warm fuzzy feeling in my head. Whether or not the symtoms were caused by the Exstacy, they occured, and it concerns me that I may have had a stroke Yes, you should tell your doctor. He will know whether this is relevant to any health issues you now have. As a doctor he has to keep anything you say confidential, so don't worry about admitting your prior drug use. OF COURSE YOU SHOULD! BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY! Tell your doctor everything. That's what they are there for. Yes, you should tell your doctor everything. He is not there to judge you, he is there to see the overall picture and go from there. Even the drug use should be told. |
