Is it common to suffer hallucinations following a stroke.?

My Mother died recently and about a month before she had a massive stroke she complained of hallucinations and dizziness. I feel she had a mini stroke at that time and I should love some answers because I wonder if I could have saved her. Thankyou.

i've had numerous stroke patients and they suffered from hallucinations and/or dizziness too. don't blame yourself, most folks don't get checked, because it isn't life threatening at the time. i feel strongly that when its your time to go, there is no doctor in the world that is going to make a difference. i'm so sorry for you loss. it is devastating. i do hope i brought some comfort to you.
You couldn't have saved her, my mother had a stroke about 3 years ago and she is giving all the family a hard time, part of her brain was affected the left side is paralysed and she can do nothing for herself, blames everyone for her being in a nursing home, but none of us can look after her 24hours as that is what she needs we do take her out for day trips, but she has turned into an evil woman with the things she says and she doesn't realise the hurt she is causing people, we have to endure it and let her live the best we can for her. Don't ever feel guilty by what happened to her, just remember all the good things that happened
whether or not someone has hallucinations when having a stroke depends on which part of the brain is affected during the seizure .
and dont worry yourself about if you could have saved your mother the answer is probably not.
It is almost impossible to predict a stroke, even if you had had her checked at the time and she had had a mild stroke that doesn't mean the doctors could have prevented the more serious stroke.Don't blame yourself.I am sorry for your loss
