My BIL had a major brain aneurysm then a mild stroke. Has anyone experienced this and survived?

The aneurysm broke while on the operating table, then they noticed he had the mild stroke too. He had 48 hours of crucial time to wake up, but didnt. Found out he had fluid on the brain, so put in a brain shunt to drain it. Now he's had movement of his leg and both feet. Doctor says it might be just nerves? What do you think?

Usually a burst aneurysm in the brain results in death. So in a sense he's been lucky so far. The stroke that he had was mild so generally speaking he can expect a fairly good recovery. Most stroke victims have some permanent damage, but the extent is impossible to predict, and ongoing physical therapy usually helps a lot.
I really hope for a full recovery.
