Is there hope for regainment of arm 6 years post stroke? |
Is there hope for regainment of arm 6 years post stroke? 6 yrs. is along time, but I know a stroke victim that goes to a rehabilitation place that has a pool. His doctor wrote a prescription for him to go there. He swears by it. The warm water does wonders. You should try it. I hope that you get better. Possibly. This depends on whether or not new connections and muscle memory engrams are being formed. It can take years to regain mobility and strength lost from a stroke or any incident involving a loss of oxygen. Physical therapy has been proven to be beneficial in these types of situations. I'd say if you got none after six years, the chances are bleak..Depending on the severity of the stroke determines what can be recovered. Docs will suggest rehabilitative ecercises, but the progress is slow as the brain has to relearn..of course if you don't do the exercises, you probably will get nothing. Good luck Life experience |
