My mother is 72 years old,3 days back she had a minor stroke now left side is very very weak speech not clear


she was hospitalised within 4 hours of seeing the first symptoms ,ie:unable to balance her body , left side went very weak just short of paralysis,speech not clear as before. had skull scan ,absolutey normal.even after 3days treatment by physicion, no marked improvement.doctor said;minor stroke.memory is fine .shape of face not normal.what course i should follow.whether the effects are reversible

Having your mother do facial exercises, like opening and closing her mouth will start to strengthen the muscles. Also it's good to get flash cards with letters and numbers and have her read them until she can start talking better. You will probably need to have her go to a physical therapist to help with full rehabilitation. Be patient - it takes time.

It can take the body a long time to recover from even a mild stroke. Sometimes hours, sometimes months or years, if at all.

Just wait it out and follow the advise of the physician. Therapy is involved to improve motor function if it is not improving on its own.
I am sorry to hear all of this and hope this helps you. A stroke can paralyze (temporarily or Permanently) some muscles.. The best course of action I can tell you is light Physical Therapy i.e. moving the left side of body starting off with no weight and slowly add some weight. Working on speech daily just practicing saying words and sounds. The muscles have been weakened by the stroke and this may help to rebuild them.. Its like having to learn things all over again. If you don't see any improvement after a few weeks of this I would consult another physician. Good Luck

i think you should repeat the scan as early scan can be normal in CVAs.Recovry is dependent upon the cause(DIABETESE,HYPERTENSION,H... PROBLEMS ETC)Unless thecause is removed she is vulnarable to more strokes.Plz do consult neares neurophysician and pray fr her also.good luck
