I had a cerebral aneurysm causing numbness down my left side was this a stroke? |
the numbness was down the whole of my left handside of my body and still effects me, was this a stroke If the affects wear of after 24 to 48hrs it may be considered as a Transient Eschemic Attack ie mini stroke. If you are still suffering the effects it maybe a CVA,Cerebral Vascular Accident,in both cases you should seek immediate medical help to find the cause and try and prevent possible further attacks,Good Luck. might of been, have you gone to the doctors (smack on head with hand),what am i saying you cant answer me please tell me your not just sitting infront of the computer having just had a stroke asking us what we think Only if it burst... It can be considered a stroke. But a stroke normally involves a blood clot in the brain. While you had a blood vessel break. Results were the same numbness to the affected side of the body. A cerebal Aneurysm can cause all the same symptoms as a stroke but is a condition in its own right. The symptoms you are getting (numbness) is due to the damage to the brain...things should improve in time xx An aneurysm is a weakness or ballooning of an artery. They can leak or burst. It sounds like your aneurysm did cause bleeding in the brain, affecting your movement. This is a type of stroke known as a hemorrhagic stroke. The most common type of stroke is an occlusive stroke, which is caused by a blocked artery in the brain rather than bleeding. Long-term physical therapy can sometimes help numbness and weakness (called parasthesia) to be reduced, but sometimes these symptoms are permanent. Good luck in your recovery! An anuerism is a bubble in your blood vessel in the brain.I myself had a subarachnoid bleed from an anuerism, and during surgery, they found 3 more anuerisms, two of which were treated, but the third one was inoperable, and it still sits there. This happened to me in1995,and Iam still here to tell you about it,so do not fret and worry yourself about it.I wish you the very best in the world .If you felt you would like to talk to me ,please feel free to get in touch.
