If you are taken off Lipitor after 6 years of use can it cause a stroke?

I personally do not take the drug Lipitor however I heard while I was at one of my millions of doctor visits that Lipitor is a drug which one needs to be weaned off of slowly so as to avoid complications such as strokes. Please check with your doctor and a trusted pharmacist before changing the way you take any prescribed medications.
