Are there different speech therapist for dumb persons n people who have lost the speech because ot the stroke?


the person had cranitomy n has toma n peg feed.he gets upset when the speech therapist treat im as he feels he is being treated like he has been born deaf n dumb and of low mental ability. he has now physical disabilty.

if that person is not happy with his therapist then he should ask for another therapist. if he has trouble speaking he can write down his wish.

when i went through physical therapy, i did not like my first therapist and i got another one, who understood my way of learning. So maybe he needs another therapist

now just because someone is deaf it does not mean he/she is not smart. that is rude to say deaf and dumb. they have a hearing disability, or speech disability. try to use sign language, it is not easy to learn.

please think about how you express yourself about disabled people wheather or not it is a physical or a mental disablity. Source(s): I am disabled and I also had speech therapy in elementary and junior high school.
