Does anyone know about ischemic strokes? |
My mother suffered an ischemic stroke that left her unable to speak and she has lots of drooling due to her not really being able to use her tongue. Does anyone in the medical field know of any medicine or anything she can do to stop this drooling? the part of her brain that controls those muscles was probably damaged. physical therapy is the best bet for improvement but not a sure thing Really the only thing that can help is Physiotherapy, there aren't any drugs as far as I know. If the stroke is recent, it is possible to revert the problem, at least partially, by exercising (phisiotherapy). But if the problem is present for more than two years, than, there is nothing to do anymore. |
