Does anybody know anything about strokes and the "locked in syndrome"?

MY brother had a stroke would like other opions on his long road to recovery.Hes out of icu,not on life support anymore, but has a treck, hes kinda like in a coma, but he is awake,we believe he could hear us,he moves his toes, armes and legs, butt very little,he doesnt really look at us,i guess hes not focusing yet. They set him up in a chair everyday,is he going to recover or what????

The brain has been damaged by the stroke and it is not unusual for the human brain to compensate and find ways around this damage do not give up but only time will tell
There is a product that stimulates stem cells in the body that may help with this problem. Go to israela.stemtechhealth.com to get more information
there was a special on "locked in syndrome" on primetime last week. its incredibly rare. if it were that, he should be able to understand and fully comprehend everything you are saying. think of a movement that is the easiest for him at this time, and try asking him yes or no questions. for example, if its the easiest for him to wiggle his toes, ask him to wiggle them if he can understand you. if he can, you might be able to get a system of communication going with him, which will make it easier on the both of you to get him on some road of recovery. good luck with this and god bless!
You need to speak to his Dr. ask if he has aphasia (means he can understand most of what he hears but is unable to speak, write or communicate) or if he is a vegetative state. The Dr should be able to tell you how much recovery your brother will have by the location and amount of damage to the brain as shown o a CT scan or MRI. You and you brother have a long road to travel-best of luck and prayers for you both.
