Know any grants to help purchase buildings for homeless substance abusing men or women?

Know any grants to help purchase buildings for homeless substance abusing men or women?

Fundraising is best done locally. Talk to local businesses, communities of faith, and branch offices of national or international organizations. You also need verifiable data that shows why this facility is needed (number of homeless substance-abusing men and women in the area, list of all services available to them currently, impact this facility will have on the community, etc.), as well as letters of endorsement from other organizations for this initiative.

There are grants for this. Usually foundations that provide building and/or renovations funds focus on a certain geographic region, so I can't tell you specifically if there is anything in your area (since I don't know where you're located).

They almost always require that the grants go to a nonprofit 501(c)3. Don't necessarily expect the entire amount to come from one grant either. You would probably want to launch a capital campaign to raise money specifically for a building, and work with many corporations and foundations in your area.
