Judge jones is hearing a motion to order release of substance abuse records pursuant to a subpoena.the hearing

B. may be in open court at the discretion of the judge
C. must be heard in chambers and sealed from the public scrutiny
D. may be heard in chanbers if the motion so requested.

D) May be heard in chambers if requested by motion. There is a very real potential (based upon your facts) that the records would contain medical information. If that is correct, public release could violate the federal HIIPA laws. The court, however, has no duty to insure its acts do not violate HIIPA. The Court has complete immunity.
