Is being addicted to Red Bull considered substance abuse?

Is being addicted to Red Bull considered substance abuse?

No. Cause substance abuse is either illegal drugs or alcohol. They cause us to change personalities and to lie and cheat and to steal to keep using the drug of choice or alcohol. While caffeine can become addictive it does not cause us to hurt or lie to the ones we love just to get a fix. So it is not considered substance abuse though it can be addictive.

As far as others claiming that caffeine is a drug that is not true. Drugs are man made or at least altered plant components to produce effects that isn't natural. Caffeine is a naturally occurring compound in coffee, tea, cocoa, and guarana. It is not altered at all produce the stimulating effect it gives us.

It seems "no" from mainstream perspective when talking about substance abuse, but ya, in the same way i need to with Starbucks and eating out, try to moderate it. By the way, alcohol for example is legal as long as youre 21 or older, dont drive over the limit, arent intoxicated in an area thats considered public in a way thats public intoxication, and dont contribute to a minor, and whatever else i may not know about. Not that i'm condoning certain things(esp. drunk driving), but other things besides red bull are legal, as long as other things come into consideration obviously.

caffeine is a drug, a drug that is widely socially acceptable, however, any coffee drinker will tell you it is highly addictive.
although I definately think you can be addicted and abuse red bull, and therefore you can say it could be "substance abuse" I dont think they will treat you with rehab or anything like they do with other substance abusers.

Yes. Caffine is drug, and is addictive. Your a caffine junkie! Just be careful when your drinking those things, especially if you mix them with alcohol. My heart stopped one night when I was drinking jager and monster. I drank like 9 monsters. So just don't drink to many drinks and you'll be fine.

It is not substance abuse, but it is abusive to your body. Try to regulate your intake of this legal substance.

Red bull addict! J/K. Yeah it's a stimulant so i guess it can be.
