I have a substance abuse problem to painkillers. my dr prescriber klonopin but its not helping with cravings?

I am going through withdrawals and the klonopin is not helping at all. I just feel like it is giving me a weird feeling and i can not really function.

Why would a Doctor prescribe clonazepam to an opioid addict? Is he trying to get you a worse addiction? Stupid.

Clonazepam will not help with cravings. Or, rather, if it does, it will only do so when you are so intoxicated with the clonazepam that there is no desire to get high on the painkillers.

If you need help quitting, you should be switching to Suboxone or Methadone, not clonazepam.

Benzodiazepines produce a much worse discontinuation syndrome than opiates- including lifetime anxiety and seizures.

I would suggest getting on Suboxone, NOT Methadone.

I, too, suffer from opiate addiction. I went through hellish Methadone withdrawals, and oxycontin w/ds.. I'm over withdrawals now but I'm still battling the mental part..

Are you withdrawing?
I know a bunch of different tricks to alleviate withdrawals.

hell have to try somethign stronger
i know of neurontin, valium and ativan are all prescribed for opiiod withdrawls..
