Could a tai chi master beat a pro boxer in the ring?

Again, as "clown" said with boxing rules, a tai chi master would have no chance in hell!! If he did, he'd go into the boxing ring (where the money is) and make a fortune. How come over all the years none of them,have done that??

i don't practice tai chi, but my boyfriend does. it's his passion. we watch all types of stuff on youtube, and some of the stuff is absolutely amazing! if he were here i would ask what he thinks....
but my answer would be YES. tai chi is an amazing art. i need to learn how to practice it. not only to be able to defend myself, but there are many health benefits associated with it.

in the ring with boxing rules. no chance in hell. boxing is a science that uses hands. it has been perfected over a century of what works and what does not work when you use only those two weapons. thai chi may be good for self defense but against a boxer in a boxers world he gets ko'd in maybe a minute

Sure, can the Tai Chi guy use his feet? If not then the boxer wins.

The Tai Chi master would win. I've been taking Tai Chi lessons for 13 years. The boxer wouldn't have a chance. The master would counter every move he made. Now the master wouldn't necessarily be punching. He would get the boxer off balance and push him to the floor, with certain moves and trips when he is off balance. He would block or re-direct all of the boxer's punches in order to do this. You're talking about two different arts here. Boxing is an external art where Tai Chi is an internal art. A boxer is no match for a true Tai Chi master.
