Tai chi -Hurting people without touching them? |
When I was younger I used to go Tai Chi, I progressed to the stage where I was doing push hands but gave it up because I couldn't afford it any more. When i was there we would occasionally see th master fending off people/holding them down/throwing them into mats without touching them? The victim's movements always seemed a bit farcical, but they would fly back onto mats with real force though. I was never given the chance to experience this for myself though. Is this for real though? Was it psychological? Can any tai chi instructors comment? Hi there Purely psychological, or even rehearsed. It's Psychological. If the people believe enough that it will effect them, it will. There was a great National Geographic Channel show that explained some of the mysticism in martial arts. The second clip is from that show. It might not be impossible but if someone could do that there'd probably be no limit to what they could do. It'd be like telekenesis. Here's a link to a video showing what happens when someone tries to use that in a fight against someone that isn't brain washed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEDaCIDvj... If the link doesn't work, in the youtube search just type Kiai Master vs MMA . Not sure really. Ive heard of similar things from sound advanced martial artists though. its all bullshit psychological, self hypnosis type stuff. If you don't beleive it it don't work. Who is the teacher? I'm not a Tai Chi expert, but there is no way that you can take someone down without any physical force. There have been myths of magic in martial arts for years. Much of this comes from superstitions from Asia and from the movies(Hollywood). Also, in martial arts there are hidden techniques that the averages person doesn't see. Thing appear to be different than what they really are. Often these are taught to the advanced students or advanced rank. Yeah, I agree with what everyone else is throwing out there. Don't believe the hype. There's no solid evidence that magical chi ko's and telekinesis exist. If people are doing it, then it is likely because the people they are performing it on want to be knocked out/back back magical energy body magic b.s. No it's all true, if he pushes the air particles between them hard enough they will hit the other guy with force |
