Health problems for a teen.?

I am a 16 year old girl, who used to be on the basketball team and i have been for as long as i think i could be. but lately i started passing out at random times, it started happening a year ago. i've had many tests down on my heart (holter monitors, arrhythmia monitors, ECG's and EKG's) and i had an EEG done. the EEG didn't show anything. but the other tests showed that i have a heart murmur, a leaky valve and a first degree heart block. i also have asthma.

I was wondering if anybody could explain these anymore and what symptoms they can cause. and if there is any treatements or anything so i can play basketball again, or do anything physical stuff.

Thanks

and my doctors won't tell me anything

A normal adult heart beats between 60 and 100 times a minute. A heart rate over 100 beats a minute is called tachycardia. Some tachycardias are relatively harmless and need no treatment, but others can be life threatening. Treatment for recurrent tachycardia can range from daily medication to open-heart surgery. A specific diagnosis is necessary before finding the right treatment for your tachycardia.

People with severely leaky heart valves that cause no symptoms -- a situation thought to be relatively harmless -- actually are in danger of dying and should consider surgery to get the problem fixed right away.

People with severely leaky heart valves Are five times more likely to die of a heart problem or develop heart failure or an irregular heartbeat than those with mild leakage.
Doctors don't want every patient to rush off and demand surgery tomorrow, but some people should go to surgery earlier if their surgery risk is low and their valve is repairable.

Stay away from stimulants like caffeine: Completely eliminate all caffeine from your diet.
Drink plenty of water and remember that you have a lot more blood pumping through your body so it is possible that is all it is.

So you can play basketball again, or do any physical stuff? Yes you can, BUT your cardiologist is the only one that should explain that to you. Definitely tell your doctor about your symptoms.

Take care always! M

"and my doctors won't tell me anything"

- get another doctor

Yes,... your cardiologist is the only one that should explain that to you
