*read this* i need FREE HEALTH CARE.....I'M A TEEN.? |
AS SOME OF YOU (ON LAST NIGHT) KNOW I HURT MY KNEE, ITS GETTING WORSE, MY PARENTS ARE OUT OF TOWN, MY BIG BROTHER IS ASLEEP, ITS NOT BROKEN. BUT I FELL OVER MY HANDLE BARS AND LANDED ON IT(SEE MY PAST QUESTION FOR MORE) AND NOW I NEED A PLACE I CAN GO FOR CHEEP......I HAVE NO MONEY I SPENT EVERYTHING BUYING A KNEE BRACE! MY QUESTION IS: where can i get free/ cheep health care? perferably, one that i can stop in. Have you asked your parents if they have health insurance for you? You may have coverage but not aware of it. If you have a family doctor you should call on Monday, but if you can't wait that long, you can go to your local Emergency Room and be seen regardless of ability to pay, but since you're a minor they will need to have information about your parents. When you go to the ER, tell the person who registers you that you don't know if you have insurance or if you don't have insurance. Hospitals have social workers that can help you get health insurance through your local social services agency or if you're not eligible for that then they can offer you other options such as a monthly payment schedule or maybe even some other program to help uninsured people depending on your parents' income level. But if you go to the ER, you will receive several bills; 1 from the hospital, 1 from each doctor you see and 1 from a radiologist (person who reads the xray) and that can cost hundreds. That's why you should REALLY check with your parents about health insurance and who they use as your family doctor. Good luck--hope your leg heals quickly! Source(s): go to this website and see if it helps you with finding insurance: http://minneapolis.about.com/od/healthin... go to a community clinic. they are very cheap and confidential If its swelling up at all, take some ibupfrofan. It will make the swelling go down. Secondly, raise your knee and put lots of ice on and off for about an hour every other hour. I HOPE IT GETS BETTER!!Email me on your results Try calling the local hospitals and ask if they can refer you anywhere that offers cheap services, or services for those with out insurance. i wish you luck on getting better. Emergency clinics (after hours clinics) are usually cheaper then hospital emergancy rooms. Call your parents. Tell them what happened. Ask them what they think you should do. Call your local hospital. Tell them your story. See what they say. |
