How are thyroid disorders determined and treated / along with obesity for men?

Blood tests are done and the doctor checks your hormone levels to see if they are off. From there, they determine if you have hyper-thyroidism or hypo-thyroidism and administer medications to keep excessive or recessive hormones in check. Obesity can be caused by an underactive thyroid. So in essence, by treating the problem of hypo-thyroidism you can finally get your obesity in check. Oh yeah---that and healthy eating habits and excercise.

determined by blood test and treated by different meds ref by a specialist, women are more vulnerable to it then men , there is a special med that will increase your metabolically rate as well as control the thyroid. Talk to the specialist to see if it would fit. best of luck, and stay healthy
Tell your doctor your concerns. He will order you a thyroid panel ( blood test ) will can determine if you are hypothyroid. This can be treated with medication.
