Would a thyroid disorder cause a burning feeling in side of neck?

for around a year whenever my husband has a blood test to check his high cholesterol the dr always says his thyroid is high or low, [not sure which one]
hes never put him on medication cos he asks him if hes tired, muscle aches or a sore neck- cos hes always feeling fine the dr says he dosent need medication for it cos its only out by a bit
but for the last few weeks ive noticed my hubby is more tired and sore, and he says the side of his neck has sharp buring feelings , that are there a couple times a day

could this burning pain in the side of the neck be his thyroid, ?
thanks

I've never heard of that symptom, I know you can have pain in the front of your neck where your thyroid is located sometime.

I was hyperthyroid years ago and went through all these procedures till now I just take a thyroid pill for the rest of my life.
It is nothing to play around with, it can make you feel miserable.
Your family dr is not specialized in this, mine referred me to an endocrinologist who does. Many times drs try to treat these things without trying to find out the cause or how bad it really is, so get a referral to an endocrinologist and let him investigate.
