What is the origin and mortality rate of Trichomoniasis?

What is the origin and mortality rate of Trichomoniasis?

It is a bacterial infection. A woman can actually infect herself from not cleaning herself in the right way. Candida which is present in the anal area can be transmitted in this way because of the close proximity of a woman's anatomy.
It can be passed through sexual contact. The man can be a carrier for 30 days. It takes that long for the germ to die off. Seek medical treatment and take lots of Natural vitamin C...& Pro-biotics..

Comes from under cooked pork.......not much

I like the first answer, cute by inaccurate as it may be. Trichomoniasis is a protozoan parasite, called Trichomonas vaginalis. I don't think anyone knows where it came from originally, but it's spread through sex and it's probably the most common sexually transmitted disease out there. It's not fatal, so there isn't a mortality rate to speak of. There is evidence that the infection makes you more susceptible to HIV infection, and that of course can be fatal. But trich itself isn't. It's just very uncomfortable for women who get it. Men for the most part don't have any symptoms, grace of their physical arrangement. Treatment is easy, and most often highly sucessful, when you treat both partners. And it's preventable by using condoms.

Trichomoniasis is infection of the vagina or male genital tract with Trichomonas vaginalis. It can be asymptomatic or produce urethritis, vaginitis, or occasionally cystitis, epididymitis, or prostatitis. Diagnosis is by microscopic examination of vaginal or prostatic secretions or by urethral culture. Patients and sexual contacts are treated with metronidazole. Coinfection with gonorrhea and other STDs is common.
