Wife has Trichomoniasis - I don't.? |
My wife complained of a yeast infection for about 2 weeks. Then she first went to the hospital, who diagnosed her with trichomoniasis. Came home, accused me of everything. Then I went to my doctor - with her in tow, and was check for trichomoniasis via urine, and everything else via stick. Alas....No STD to be found! She then went to her woman doctor, and was told again that she has trichomoniasis. She denies dong anything (I guess cause she looks crazy now). I am very faithful, etc. Also, we have not had sex in over a month. Now she is saying that maybe she received it from a toliet or pork or something (also said she is faithful). Whats the deal? Why is it wrong for a man to give a woman a std, but when the shoe is shown to be on the other foot, it is ok??? How long have you been married????? you don't get trich from a toilet seat, only one way to get it, and I am afraid that is thru intercourse. You and your wife need counselling if you are going to weather this issue. You really can catch a STD via a toilet seat. The bacteria doesn't last long outside the body, but it is possible that she sat on a public toilet immediately after someone else did. Sometimes bugs just happen. The female genital system has a lot of "flora" in it. The bad bugs are generally kept in check by the good bugs but sometimes a range of circumstances (like stress or taking certain medications, or exposure to contaminated wet things, or being run down) can cause one type of bug (like Candida or Trichomonas) to overgrow and cause infection. It just needs to be treated and the partner of the person should be tested and treated either for the infection or to keep from getting the infection. Many many years ago, I got a infection that I think was trichomoniasis, which occurred several weeks after having a pregnancy loss. It was probably related to all the folks handling me in the hospital and because of the trauma itself. The guy I was with got into a snit about it. But that's life. Hopefully you and your wife will not freak out about this and will just be supportive of each other while she takes her antibiotic and gets better. U definately have it... get that **** checked out man... if you get little red bumps in your genital area then you have it fo sho It is very common to find trich in a female exam (wet mount) then it is in a male urine specimen. Trich thrives in the vagina whereas it's chances of surviving in a male urerthra are very low and even lower that it will show up when tested. So you might have it also there is just not a test out there to diagnose it as properly for men. I work in the lab at a STD clinic so I say this with alot of experience...... |
