Can you get trichomoniasis even if you and your sex partner only have sex with each other?

is the parasite formed on its own in women and then given to sexual partners or is it formed by having sex with more than one person?

It is a sexually transmitted disease that is passed from one partner to another. Therefore, If you get the disease, and you haven't had sex with anyone else, you can bet your partner has been fooling around with someone else.
STDs of any variety have the potential to be transmitted in a single encounter. Most of the time one the partners is unaware of any sort of infection, thereby increasing risk. As to Trich, most men don't exibit any signs to indicate infection. Also, no, Trich does not spontaneously occur in women. So if you're concerned about getting it yourself, you should consider asking your partner whom he's been with or having him seek out those past partners to see if anyone has come up as infected.

i BELIEVE that trich is passed from one person to another. in other words, your body just wont form the parasite out of the blue - you would need to contract it from someone else first. the one bad thing about trich is that oftentimes, it goes undiagnosed because its symptoms either dont present at all or they are so mild that the person with trich doesnt think anything is wrong. typically, trich will cause things like abnormal vaginal discharge (or penis discharge), itching, odor, or pain with urination or sex. it can usually be caught when your doctor does a PAP. its easy enough to cure - just one drug called metro gel (metronidazole) will clear it right up. either way, if you are having sex with multiple partners, you are at risk. if you are in a monogamous relationship with someone and you both know you are trich free then you will not contract it. :) Stacy, RN

Its formed by having multiple sex partners, if you keep having unsafe sex with more than one partner its carring their body fluids and so no unless your partner is doing something elseand not telling you
