Yellow-Green Discharge - Trichomoniasis? |
I have lived since around the age of 11 with a yellow-green discharge that until recently, at the age of 26, I thought all women had as I was always told women have a "natural discharge" but did not know what this natural discharge looked like. During my adolescence I had been seen by three different gynocologists for other issues (to begin birth control, an itching/rash, etc) and had mentioned the discharge to them but they never saw anything (as strong as it was). One told me it was a bacterial infection and gave me a creme to insert vaginally twice - no difference. Beginning of this year I had issues with the outer area of my vagina being raw and itching/burning. I went to the clinic for it as I don't have insurance at the moment and you can imagine my surprise when the gynocologist told me I had Trichomoniasis, an STD. As I had only had one partner who was tested for STDs and was clear this was impossible. The majority of Y/A ppl said no you can only get it sexually. I realize you are not really asking a question....but, I used to work in a residential home with teen girls. They had an outbreak of Trich. We found out the reason it kept reoccurring was because they would put the toilet paper on the floor instead of on the holder (ewwww). So that is also another way to pick it up....yuck! I had this once as well. The medicine you have been inserting vaginally is a yeast infection treatment that obviousely isnt working, nor should it. Dr should have given you an anti-biotic like tetracycline(sp?) and it will help to clear up acne as well. no big deal. i honestly dont know where I got mine from, i just know it wasnt from my partner. Just keep in mind that guys often dont show symptoms like women do. There's something else I'd like to make known to the women of yahoo. Playtex and Always have put personal cleansing cloths. I use the Playtex and I love them. You should try them, just read the packaging if you have allergies. GOOD LUCK LADIES!!!! |
