Does a guy know when he has an std like Trichomoniasis? |
well iv been talking to this guy that give this infection i wonder if he knows he has it..what are the symptoms that guys get? Trichomoniasis is caused by a single-celled protozoan parasite, Trichomonas vaginalis. It is usually found in the urethra in men. Most men do not have symptoms other than irritation inside the penis, a mild discharge, or slight burning after urination or ejaculation. These symptoms disappear within a few weeks without treatment, but the man is still infected and can pass on the parasite. Untreated trichomoniasis can result in pelvic inflammatory disease in women. Although trichomoniasis is NOT a reportable STD (physicians diagnosing it do not have to report it to the state health department), an estimated 5 million women get it each year. Trich is usually treated with metronidazole (Flagyl) in a single dose. Flagyl is an antibiotic and an antiparasitic. Note: If this guy gave you trichomoniasis, he could also have given you: Gonorrhea. Syphilis. Chlamydia. HIV. Hepatitis C. HPV (there are 30 sexually-transmissible kinds). Genital warts. Yeast infection. Urinary tract infection. Pubic lice. Scabies. Bacterial vaginosis. He has certainly caused you anxiety, annoyance, and (I hope) testing and treatment for this STD. Please be careful! Source(s): I am in healthcare education. probably not, a lot of times guys don't get the common symptoms a female would get (itching, burning, etc) you dont always know you have it since you can be a carrier and not show symptoms one symptom is penial discharge B. A man might not have any symptoms. If they do it will be a slight irritation in side the penis, a slight discharge and /or a slight burning during urination and /or ejaculation. |
