What can i do for a Urinary tract infection?

What can i do for a Urinary tract infection?

go get some antibiotics. if it goes to your kidneys you could have serious problems. and drink lots of water in the mean time

Nutrition and Supplements

At the first sign of a bladder infection, drink large quantities of purified water to help flush the bacteria out of the bladder. Because sugar feeds the bacteria, it is essential to avoid all concentrated sweeteners, including honey, maple syrup, rice syrup, and molasses. Also eliminate caffeine, alcohol, and spicy foods, all of which irritate the urinary tract.

The following supplements are helpful for treating a urinary tract infection:

unsweetened cranberry juice or cranberry capsules, two to three times daily: contains a substance that prevents the bacteria from adhering to the walls of the bladder
Vitamin C, 500 mg every two to three hours: to create a more acidic environment in the bladder and to boost immunity
Vitamin A, in the form of beta-carotene, 25,000 IU daily: to strengthen the mucous membranes and bolster immunity
zinc, 30 mg daily: to combat infection

Herbal Remedies

Herbs help heal a bladder infection by soothing the inflammation and through the bacteria-fighting properties of their essential oils. The following herb is a powerful and effective urinary antiseptic and should be used only for a few days, and in combination with demulcent herbs:

Uva ursi (bearberry): 1 teaspoon of tincture, 1 cup of tea, or two capsules three times a day (Uva ursi works best in an alkaline environment, so avoid cranberry juice, vitamin C, and other acidic foods and beverages while using the herb.)
The following herbs have demulcent, soothing properties and are most effective for bladder infections when taken as teas, at least three to four cups daily:

marshmallow root
cornsilk
Take the following herbs for their general immune-stimulating properties:

echinacea, 1 teaspoon of tincture or two capsules three to four times a day
goldenseal or barberry root, 1/2 teaspoon of tincture or two capsules two times a day. (Pregnant women should not use herbs containing berberine.)

Homeopathic Remedies

Homeopathic remedies for cystitis include:

Apis: for a constant desire to urinate accompanied by stinging and burning
Cantharis: for a sudden, violent infection accompanied by blood in the urine
Staphysagria: for a bladder infection that comes on after intercourse
Also available are combination remedy formulas that are prepared with some or all of the above single remedies.

Essential Oils

Essential oils for the treatment of bladder infections can be used in massage to the abdomen and lower back or in baths. Use any of the following essential oils singly or in combination:

chamomile: antiseptic, diuretic
lavender: antimicrobial, antiseptic, diuretic
sandalwood: urinary antiseptic, astringent, diuretic

drink plenty of water and cranbery juice, also you can go to Wal-Mart and get something called Azo Standard, it helps with the pain and frequency, I would also recommend calling your doctor and getting antibiotics as well

A urninary tract infection can be quite painful. I recently had
one. I went to my doctor had an examination and I got some
antibiotics and it cleared up within a week. See your doctor
very soon. Over the counter meds do not work like antibiotics
so don't waste your time or your money, just go to the doctor.

How do you know you have a urinary tract infection? If you do, then you have been to a doctor to have your urine tested. That is how you know you have one. Then he would have given you an antibiotic, then you would already know that is the only way to get rid of one.

Drink lots of water, drink cranberry juice. Those will help keep you from getting a UTI (urinary tract infection). Also, if you are a woman, always clean yourself from front to back following any toileting. These are always preventative.

See your doctor to get rid of a suspected UTI

I am an RN

cranberry juice.
it tastes tart, but the more you drink it the better.
oh yeah, go to the doctor for antibiotics too.

Cranberry juice will prevent urinary tract infection. If the juice is intolerable, then take cranberry pills. Garlic is good for infections, including yeast infections. Take garlic pills, as these are usually stronger in dose than eating garlic. Also, the pills are tolerated better. Hope this helps. My mom and many of her friends use cranberry. They haven't had any bladder infections since they started taking cranberry pills. And I, myself, have used garlic to keep yeast infections from happening.

I have some home remedies and it says for a urinary tract infection take an Alka Seltzer- seriously! I have also heard that cranberry juice doen't help...it just makes you pee. Good luck

It depends if it is an upper or lower urinary tract infection...

I would need to know your symptoms to best answer your questions.

If its an upper UTI, you must consult a doctor immediately for antibiotic treatments.

If its a lower UTI, drink PLENTY OF WATER! It may be painful to urinate more frequently, but hopefully it'll be a couple of days and be gone. WATER, water, water!

Also, try cranberry juice and orange juice.

And when you wash your private area, make sure you dry it afterwards.

Hope it helps...

you can try take zinad antibiotic.
