Could my urinary tract infection get worse? PLEASE HELP?

On thursday I noticed some UTI symptoms (pain and feeling like I have to pee). Today I went to the doctor who perscribed me amoxicillin. I took one more than an hour ago. I don't expect to feel better yet but could it be or be getting worse (kidney infection) by now? The doctor did the little stick-in-the-urine-sample test and it didn't really show anything but he sent it to the lab and he thinks I do have a UTI. If the test didn't show much does that mean it's not that severe? Also my back sort of hurts, though the doctor touched my kidneys and asked if hurt and it didn't. The back pain has been on and off for a while now. Sorry for so many questions but I'm sort of confused and stuff.

Also I've been drinking cranberry juice, will that help at all?

You should be fine if you're taking your antibiotics. I've had many UTI's and the pain will gradually go away and there still could be irritation after your done taking the antibiotics. Don't worry, you went to the doctor quickly, so I doubt you have a kidney infection.

Cranberry juice can help to prevent UTI's, but can't help treat them. Beware of the sugar in cranberry juice as well, it can hurt you more than help you. It's better to drink water when you have a UTI.

Hope this helps!

It would get much worse before it spread to your kidneys.. you would start peeing blood.. and let me tell you, that is painful!!!

yes cranberry juice helps clean the kidneys but drink lots of water as well.. like 6 pints every hour of sumthing i had to.. .my doc sed mine wont do severe but i hve had another 3 in the spce if 2 month.. so go tell him and say untill something is done about it you are not leaving the clinic because the get alot worse.. one of them left me not being able to walk to 3 days it wo so painfull... drink lots and lat dwn it make you not need the toilet as much.. but lay dead flat on your back... hope i helped...
